November 14, Fineko/abc.az. Gas production from deep reservoirs at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields (Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea) is expected to begin at the end of 2024.

ABC.AZ reports, citing a source, that it is expected that gas extraction from deep reservoirs will begin from an existing platform at the field after the necessary modernization works there.

At that, according to the source, negotiations are ongoing between partners on the ACG project for development of deep-sea gas. In particular, one of the main topics of discussion is under which contract (old or new) deep-sea gas development will be carried out.

Currently, the information obtained from the well is being analyzed in order to study the potential of deep gas-bearing layers of ACG.

However, the source did not confirm or deny that the production will be carried out from Chirag platform.
