November 7, Fineko/abc.az. The import of poultry meat in Azerbaijan from three U.S. states has been restricted, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan.
According to official data of the World Organization for Animal Health, outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been registered in the states of California, Washington and Alabama (USA).
In this regard, in order to protect the territory of the republic from this infectious disease, a temporary restriction has been introduced on the import of live poultry and hatching eggs, poultry meat and finished meat products from all types of poultry products (except products subjected to heat treatment that ensures the destruction of avian influenza viruses), bird feed and feed additives (except feed and feed additives additives of plant origin, chemical and microbiological synthesis), equipment from the specified states used for the maintenance of, slaughter and processing of poultry meat in accordance with the Land Animal Health Code.
