October 19, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of 2023, Russian oil supplies to China have increased by 25% versus the 2022 same term and exceeded 75 million tons.
ABC.AZ reports that Igor Sechin, the president of the largest Russian oil company Rosneft, stated.
Noting that Russia safely supplies oil to China in the context of events in the Middle East, Sechin added: "Oil is transported via the Eastern Siberia— Pacific
Ocean pipeline. This is linked with increased geopolitical instability in the Middle East, across the Strait."
Sechin stressed that Russia is the country that sends the most oil to China, ahead of Saudi Arabia as of the 8th month of this year.
Transportation of Russian oil to China increased by 28% compared with the previous year and reached 89 million tons in 2022.
