October 9, Fineko/abc.az. Following the 1st quarter of 2023, Azerbaijan entered Top 5 among gas suppliers to Europe via pipelines.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in European Commission’s quarterly report on the situation on the European gas market.

In the 1st quarter of 2023, Azerbaijan increased gas supplies to EU countries via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) by 13% versus Q1 of 2022 up to 2.8 bcm.

The list of the five largest suppliers from January to March also included Norway, North Africa, Russia and the UK. Azerbaijan took the 5th place in this list.

Since December 31, 2021, transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via TAP has begun.
