October 6, Fineko/abc.az. The foundation of a road bridge and border-customs infrastructure has been laid today near Agbend village of Zangilan district within the Memorandum of Understanding between the Azerbaijani and Iranian governments on the creation of new communication links between East Zangezur Economic Region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the territory of Iran, and construction work is underway.

ABC.AZ reports that the event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev (co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission on Cooperation in Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Spheres) and Minister of Roads & Urban Development Mehrdad Bezrpash (co-chair on behalf of Iran).

The co-chairs noted that the road bridge and the border-customs infrastructure will contribute to growth of transit cargo transportation through the territory of the countries and facilitate entry and exit to the NAR.
