September 25, Fineko/abc.az. The groundbreaking ceremony of Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline was held in Nakhchivan on September 25, after a one-on-one meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

ABC.AZ reports that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye watched the ceremony online.

On December 15, 2020, the memorandum of understanding on the construction of Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline was signed between Azerbaijan and Turkiye in Ankara.

Under the order of the Azerbaijani leader from February 10, 2022, the State Budget allocated financing for construction of Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline. This project was included among the priority projects of the NAR State Socio-Economic Growth Program 2023-27, adopted on June 5, 2023.
