September 13, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from next year the Baku Metro passengers will be able to pay the metro fare by bank cards.

ABC.AZ reports that Bakhtiyar Mammadov, the head of Baku Metro’s press service said about this.

He added that the matter of introducing a system of payment for travel by bank cards is being worked out.

"From the beginning of 2024, work will begin on the technical introduction of the travel payment system by bank cards. After the first technical tests, the public will be informed on the occasion," Mammadov said.

He emphasized that the issue of paying for travel in various ways is in the center of attention of the Baku Metro.

At present, at metro stations ‘Khojasan’ and ‘November 8’ of the purple line, passengers, in addition to BakıKart plastic card, can use QR tickets of BakıKart mobile application to pay the fare.
