Azerbaijan produces over 24 billion cubic meters of natural gas

August 30, Fineko/abc.az. In January-June 2023, Azerbaijan produced 24.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the Ministry of Energy, that the volume of sales of Azerbaijani gas for this period amounted to 12 billion cubic meters, which is 7.5% more than in the same period last year.

In January-June, about 5 billion cubic meters of gas were exported to Turkiye, 5.7 billion cubic meters to Europe, and 1.3 billion cubic meters to Georgia.

It should be noted that during this period, more than 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas were exported to Turkiye through the Trans-Anatolian pipeline (TANAP).

Azerbaijan supplies gas to Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the last section of the Southern Gas Corridor. The capacity of the pipeline is 10 billion cubic meters with the possibility of expansion up to 20 billion cubic meters per year.
