When will the Atakoy-Ikitelli metro line, which has been under construction in Istanbul for 7 years, open?

August 25, Fineko/abc.az. Istanbul has revealed the date of opening the Atakoy-Ikitelli metro line, the construction of which has been going on for seven years.

Akram Imamoglu, Mayor of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), said that the construction of the 13-kilometer line has been completed and inspections have been carried out on the construction line, ABC.AZ reports citing foreign media.

The line running from Bakirkey to Basaksehir and passing through five provinces consists of 12 stations. The line, which will cover the distance between Atakoy and Ikitelli in 21.5 minutes, will carry 35,000 passengers per hour in one direction.

The line, which began construction in 2016, will also be integrated into Marmaray and other metro lines.
