August 22, Fineko/abc.az. As the world is facing serious shortage of diesel fuel, current stocks reportedly will not suffice to meet the economic needs during colder season.
Any supply problems or an unexpected increase in demand for diesel fuel could drive up the fuel prices dramatically. The situation was somewhat complicated by the fact that oil refineries reduced production.
ABC.AZ reports that, according to economic expert Khalid Karimli, in the current situation the prices for diesel fuel in Azerbaijan are not convincing.
According to him, the prices for this fuel, which plays an important role in production and cargo transportation, are regulated by the state.
Producing enough diesel in the country could also help keep prices stable, the expert said. It should be noted that diesel fuel is currently sold in the country at a price of AZN 0.80 per liter.
