Retail turnover up 3% in seven months

Goods worth AZN 31.1 billion were sold to consumers in the retail trade network during the seven months of the year, including food, drinks and tobacco products worth 17.5 billion manats and non-food products worth AZN 13.6 billion.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that retail trade turnover increased by 3.1% year on year, including 2% increase in food, beverages and tobacco products and 4.3% in non-food products.

In January-July 2023, food accounted for 52% of the funds spent by buyers on goods purchased in a retail network, drinks and tobacco products accounted for 4.4%, textiles, clothing and footwear made 12.5%, motor gasoline and diesel fuel made 5.4%, electrical goods and furniture made 4.7%, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies made 2.3%, computers, telecommunications equipment and printed matter made 1,1%, and non-food products made 17.6%.
