July 27, Fineko/abc.az. Additional AZN 440 million will be spent annually as part of the 4th package of social reforms implemented in Azerbaijan earlier this year.
ABC.AZ reports that State Social Protection Fund’s chairman Himalay Mamishov said this at a briefing devoted to 1st half of 2023.
"This social package covered 1.9 million people and the annual additional financial coverage of those reforms is AZN 750 million. As part of the reforms, the minimum wage has been increased by 15% to 345 manats. The salary of employees working under the unified tariff table and in a number of organizations has been increased by 15%. Extra AZN 440 million a year will be spent in this direction," Mamishov emphasized.
According to SSPF chairman, social payments also increased in the 1st half of the year: "Allowances covered a total of 810,000 people. The annual volume of additional funds amounted to AZN 310 million. Besides, the amount of 24 types of social benefits increased by an average of 22%."
