Ilham Aliyev and Blinken had a telephone conversation

July 13, Fineko/abc.az. On July 12, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

ABC.AZ reports that during a telephone conversation Blinken expressed the unwavering support of the United States in the negotiations on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noted the need for a creative and based on mutual concessions approach to the negotiation process.

He stressed the importance of crossing the Lachin checkpoint and maintaining positive dynamics in the negotiations to achieve sustainable peace.

President Aliyev stressed Azerbaijan's commitment to the peace agenda aimed at normalizing relations with Armenia. The Head of State said that Azerbaijan, as the initiator of the peace treaty between the two countries, supports its signing.

It notes that Aliyev highly appreciated the continued support of Blinken and the US government to promote the peace agenda between the two countries, and noted that another high-level meeting will be held with the Armenian side in the coming days.

The Head of State also informed Blinken that, although Azerbaijan provided the organization of the transportation of humanitarian goods, individual crossings and medical evacuation through the border and customs checkpoint "Lachin", an armed provocation of Armenia was committed on June 15, and cases of smuggling in humanitarian goods accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross were revealed, "and is now being conducted appropriate proceedings".

The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the American side.
