July 11, Fineko/abc.az. In the 2nd quarter the sales of Mercedes-Benz Group electric vehicles more than doubled amid rising demand in Germany and the United States.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the company that sales of electric vehicles grew from 25,200 cars a year earlier up to 56,300 cars.

In general, sales of Mercedes-Benz cars in the last quarter increased by 6% to 515,700 cars.

In Europe, 157,100 cars were sold - 5% more than a year earlier. In Asia, the number of cars sold increased by 10%, reaching 239,200.

In North America, there was a 3% increase in sales - up to 98,800 cars.

Shares of Mercedes-Benz Group gained 0.2% in the course of trading on Tuesday. Since the beginning of this year, their cost has increased by 17%.
