Poland took 1st place in growth of inflation in EU

July 5, Fineko/abc.az. Poland has risen to the 1st place in the European Union in terms of inflation, overtaking the Baltic countries, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Eurostat.

Poland is the leader of the EU. Unfortunately, in terms of inflation. Prices for goods and services in the country increased by 11.5%. They have not increased so much in any other EU country. Slovakia was the closest to Poland, where prices increased by 11.3%.

At that, significant slowdown in price growth occurred in the Baltic states, which thus placed behind Poland in a negative rating. Only in Germany, the annual inflation rate in June increased against May.

If in Poland annual inflation decreased by 1.5 percentage points, then in Latvia - by 4.2 points to 8.1%, in Lithuania - by 2.5 p.p. to 8.2%, and in Estonia by 2.2 p.p. to 9%. The smallest inflation is in Spain, where it fell by as much as 1.3 p.p. to 1.9%.
