June 16, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on the establishment of the ‘Tugh’ State Historical, Architectural & Nature Reserve.

ABC.AZ reports that the presidential decree says:

"One of the historical settlements embodying the great past of the Azerbaijani people is the village of Tugh, where there are cultural monuments related to the ancient heritage of Caucasian Albania. There are residential buildings decorated with decorative elements typical of the traditional architectural style of Karabakh region, over-the-hill buildings, chest-type graves and temples. The village of Tugh also has rich natural potential and ecological resources. The location of the village on the Victory Road leading to the city of Shusha expands the prospects for the development of the village from angle of tourism."

Under the decree, taking into account the historical significance of Tugh village of Khojavend district, in order to comprehensively protect the cultural and natural heritage in the adjacent territories, as well as development of tourism here, the historical territory of Tugh village of Khojavend district of Azerbaijan is declared the State Historical, Architectural & Nature Reserve "Tugh".
