June 14, Fineko/abc.az. The total volume of electricity generated in Azerbaijan reached 11.886 bn kWh, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov’s tweet.

The share of thermal power plants in the country makes up 93% of the total amount of electricity produced, 7% accounts for electricity generated from renewable energy sources.

In particular, electricity generation at hydroelectric power plants amounted to 672.3 million kWh, wind power plants - 26.4 million kWh, solar power plants - 25.4 million kWh, and a solid waste processing plant - 107.3 million kWh.

The country generated over 28.988 bn kWh of electricity in 2022 (4% more year-on-year). The share of exports totaled 3 bn kWh and imports - 137.1 million kWh.
