ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Turkish media that it is claimed that a financier named Hafize Gaye Erkan will be appointed to the organization.
It is expected that she will be received by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Hafize Gaye Erkan, who lives in the United States, reportedly arrived in Ankara on June 4. If she is appointed to this position, she will become the first female governor in the history of the Central Bank of Türkiye.
41-year-old Hafize Gaye Erkan, a graduate of the Bosphorus University, subsequently continued her education in the USA. After graduating from Princeton University, Erkan began working in the financial sector in America. She was the first Princeton student to complete a two-year doctoral program in one year, thereby earning the title of "youngest finance professor" in the country.
The Central Bank of Türkiye is currently headed by Şahap Kavcıoğlu.
