May 2, Fineko/abc.az. China, the world leader in renewable energy investments, has launched a giant solar power plant.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the foreign press that the new station is located in Chinese desert Tengger.

This plant is the first power plant in the country built and put into operation in arid areas.

For example, China has connected to the grid the first stage of its solar and wind energy project in the Tengger Desert, located at the southern tip of the Gobi Desert.

As part of the Tengger Desert Project, China aims to increase the total solar energy capacity up to 3 GW.
