Gas extraction in Azerbaijan has increased

March 16, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Feb 2023, gas production in Azerbaijan increased by 4% (versus Jan-Feb 2022) up to 8 bn cu m, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.

According to MoE operational data, 2.2 bn cu m of associated gas were produced from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block, 4.4 bn cu m of natural gas from Shah Deniz field, and 1.4 bn cu m of gas by SOCAR.

206 bn cu m of associated gas were extracted from the ACG block since the start of development and as of 1 March 2023, 187 bn cu m of natural gas at Shah Deniz field.

At that, over the entire period, more than 131 bn cu m of gas produced at Shah Deniz were exported to world markets.

Over Jan-Feb 2023, Azerbaijan increased gas exports by 13% to 4.3 bn cu m.

Gas supplies to Turkiye amounted to 1.7 bn cu m, to Georgia – 700 million cu m. At that, 900 million cu m of gas were transported to Turkiye via the TANAP gas pipeline for the reported period.
