SOCAR may create LNG terminal in Pakistan

February 22, Fineko/abc.az. A liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal may be created in Pakistan with the participation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

ABC.AZ reports that this issue was discussed at the meeting of Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov with Pakistani State Minister of Oil Musadiq Masood Malik, Minister of Investment Council Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Minister of Industry & Production Sayed Murtaza Mahmud.

Satisfaction was expressed with the high level of relations between the two countries and the possibilities of expanding cooperation, in particular, on the supply of LNG and petroleum products, were considered.

The sides noted that the agenda of energy cooperation between the two countries should cover the areas of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. It was recommended to evaluate these and other areas of bilateral energy cooperation, as well as joint participation in promising projects, within the joint working group on energy.

The Pakistani delegation expressed an interest in the participation of Azerbaijani companies as investors in various fields of energy in this country.
