February 14, Fineko/abc.az. The famous CEO of Goldman Sachs, David Solomon, admitted that the process of reducing employees should have started last year. At the beginning of this year, the bank parted with 3,200 employees. David Solomon, CEO of Wall Street giant Goldman Sachs, said at a personal meeting with bank executives that they made a mistake by not starting layoffs in early 2022.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Financial Times that the CEO took responsibility for the slowness of the dismissal of employees at a closed-door meeting with 400 Goldman Sachs partners in Miami. As it became clear that there would be a significant slowdown in the economy, the CEO said that investment in new projects was resuming.
As part of the largest cost-cutting program in recent years, Goldman Bank expected to cut 3,200 jobs by January, which is about 6.5% of its workforce.
