January 18, Fineko/abc.az. One of the world's largest online retailers Amazon has overtaken Apple and become the most expensive brand in the world.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to Brand Finance Global 500 rating.
"Amazon has regained its place as the most expensive brand in the world, despite the fact that the value of the brand has fallen by 15%, from $350.3 bn up to $299.3 bn," the release says.
Apple has dropped to 2nd place, the value of its brand has decreased by 16% since last year from $355.1 bn and now stands at $297.5 bn.
The rest of Top 5 has not changed compared to last year - Google is 3rd ($281.4 bn), Microsoft is 4th ($191.6 bn), Walmart is 5th ($113.8 bn).
The number of technology companies in the ranking decreased to 48 from 50 after Twitter and Snapchat dropped out of the list.
And Tesla (9th place in the rating, $66.2 bn) and BYD (199th place) were named among the fastest growing brands.
