January 6, Fineko/abc.az. Samsung Electronics Corporation said that its operating profit in the 4th quarter of 2022 fell by 69% (against Q4 of 2021) due to low demand for chips and smartphones.

Operating profit for the period from October to December amounted to 4.3 trillion won ($3.4 bn). A year ago, the figure was 13.8 trillion won ($10.8 bn). In the 3rd quarter of 2022 - 10.8 trillion won ($8.5 bn).

Yonhap agency reports that company's operating profit for the first time since 2014 is less than 5 trillion won ($3.9 bn) per quarter.

It is predicted that for the full year, operating profit will decrease by 16% to 43 trillion won ($33.8 bn).
