Alibaba Group Holding plans to run its operations in Europe from Turkiye

January 6, Fineko/abc.az. Alibaba Group Holding’s president Michael Evans announced company's plans to invest in projects in Turkiye and manage its operations in European markets from this country.

ABC.AZ reports that Evans was received in Ankara by Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay.

The meeting was also attended by Caglayan Cetin, the head of one of the largest e-commerce platforms of Turkiye - Trendyol Group.

Alibaba Group’s president said that his company is planning several large investment projects in Turkiye. In particular, speech is about investments in enterprises engaged in cloud computing in Ankara, as well as investments in logistics projects in Istanbul.

At that, Evans points out that the holding plans to move the control center of its operations in Europe to the territory of Turkiye. In addition, investments will be made in the manufacturing sector, administration and computing technologies.

Oktay, in his turn, said that the Turkish side considers any company that operates in accordance with the laws of the republic, creates jobs and contributes to the development of country's economy as domestic.
