August 19, Fineko/abc.az. Due to the situation on world markets and export restrictions, business entities importing grain and flour into the country faced serious price pressure.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the joint information of major flour and bread producers that in July this year, the average price of food wheat imported into the country amounted to $402.46, which is 67% higher than in the corresponding month of 2021 (average import price $241) and 18.4% higher than in December (average import price $339.89).
One of the most important issues for our country is that the high export tariffs introduced since February 2021 by Russia, one of the largest producers of food wheat and the main exporter of wheat to Azerbaijan, are still in place.
The continuing growth of grain prices on the world market, as well as on the main import markets, necessitates price revision.
In the current situation, taking into account import prices, the price ceiling has been set, with the highest price threshold for a bag of flour weighing 50 kg in Baku set at 40.70 manats.
As a result, in accordance with the new price of flour, the retail price of ordinary (round) 500-gram bread will be 0.55 manats, the retail price of bread weighing 600 grams will be 0.65 manats and the retail price of bread weighing 650 grams will be 0.70 manats.
