August 18, Fineko/abc.az. For seven months of 2022, Azerbaijan exported 60,614.99 tons of cotton fiber in the amount of $142,178,620.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that compared to the corresponding period of last year, the cost of cotton fiber exported abroad increased by 5.4%, while the volume decreased by 31.5%. The increase in export earnings, despite the reduction in the volume of exported cotton fiber, is associated with an increase in the average price. Thus, compared to the same period last year, the average price per ton of cotton fiber increased by 53.8%. While for seven months of 2021 a ton of cotton fiber was exported on average by $1525.4, then for the same period of this year this figure increased to $2345.6.

During this period, 6,045.34 tons of cotton yarn were exported in the amount of $25,268,000 manats, down 12.3% and 40.6% compared to the same period last year.
