August 18, Fineko/abc.az. For seven months of this year, Azerbaijan imported 429,806.11 tons of wheat in the amount of $154,660,000.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that compared to the same period last year, the cost of wheat imported into the country increased by 49%, and its volume rose by 5.1%.

It should be noted that the sharp increase in the cost of wheat relative to the volume was associated with its rise in price in the world market. While for seven months of last year the average price per ton of wheat imported to Azerbaijan amounted to $253.8, this year it rose to $359.8.
