July 29, Fineko/abc.az. Today, the Central Bank’s Board of Directors has held a meeting on the announcement of the discount rate. Then CBA chairman Taleh Kazimov held an online press conference.

ABC.AZ reports that the chief banker commented on the statements of lawyer Ekrem Hasanov about the insufficient number of board members (lack of quorum) and, consequently, the illegality of the decisions taken.

Kazimov said that the members of the board are approved by the parliament, being candidates represented by the country’s president.

"Today there are 3 of them, that is an odd number, and the decisions of the Board of Directors have legal force. This is unequivocal," the chairman emphasized.
