June 9, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan intends to purchase high-grade, drought-resistant seeds of wheat, barley and other grain crops from Turkey, ABC.AZ reports with reference to a source in the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry.
Negotiations are currently underway with an Azerbaijani private company on the volume of wheat seeds purchased in this direction:
"So, varieties of seeds from Turkey will be planted in Azerbaijan. The varieties of Turkish grain crops are more productive and more drought-resistant. If these varieties adapt to the Azerbaijani soil, it is planned to plant them on more extensive territories."
Azerbaijan buys wheat seeds mainly from Russia and Kazakhstan.
