AKIA paid subsidies for AZN 61.8 million to 159,500 farmers

February 15, Fineko/abc.az. The Agrarian Credit & Development Agency (AKIA) under the Ministry of Agriculture has started paying subsidies for autumn crops in 2021/2022.

ABC.AZ reports that AKIA has already paid subsidies for AZN 61.836 million to 159,500 farmers for autumn crops in 2021/22.

Subsidies have been transferred to the “farmer's card" of agricultural producers.

In accordance with the legislation, farmers can cash out 25% of the funds transferred to the card through cash machines, and 75% can be spent non-cash on the purchase of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, seeds and other means of agricultural production.

According to the decision of the Council on Agricultural Subsidies, in the 2021/22 season, a subsidy of 210 manats is paid to farmers for each hectare of grain crops.

Today, the subsidies paid cover about 300,000 hectares of acreage.
