Russia has increased quota of tomato import from Turkey

June 1, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation approved a 20% increase in the quota for the import of tomatoes from Turkey - from 250,000 tons up to 300,000 tons, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Russian government.

Russia imposed an embargo on Turkish tomatoes in 2015 after the political crisis between the two countries.

From 1 November 2017 a strict ban on the import of tomatoes from Turkey was lifted.

In May 2019, the quota was increased up to 150,000 tons, in February 2020 up to 200,000, and in January 2021 up to 250,000 tons.
