April 19, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR plans to build and put into operation a second production platform at Umid field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea in a few years.

ABC.AZ reports that this was reported by Ibrahim Akhmedov, deputy head of the SOCAR Event Organization & Public Relations Department.

According to Akhmedov, work on the design of Umid-2 platform is currently underway.

"Work is ongoing on the design of Umid-2 platform for the full-scale development of the northern wing of the field. The platform will be built and put into operation in a few years," Akhmedov said.
