February 9, Fineko/abc.az. The documents required for registration of the candidacy of Azerbaijani President and chairman of ruling party Yeni Azerbaijan Partiyasi (YAP) Ilham Aliyev for the post of the country’s president have been submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC).

The CEC informs that the documents were drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code.

At the 6th YAP Congress held on 8 February a unanimous decision was taken to nominate Ilham Aliyev for the post of President of Azerbaijan in the upcoming extraordinary presidential election on 11 April 2018.
