October 27, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and ADA University will create an Artificial Intelligence Observatory (AI Azerbaijan Observatory), which will conduct research in the field of economic competitiveness and transformation.

Deputy Economy Minister Samad Bashirli made the relevant statement at the opening of the Center for Leadership & Innovation of the Spanish IE University, established with the support of the Ministries of Economy, Science & Education of Azerbaijan and the strategic partnership of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

According to Bashirli, the Ministry of Economy and ADA University are signing a framework agreement on cooperation on the creation and development of an AI Observatory within the Artificial Intelligence Center (AI HUB).

The Observatory will bring together representatives of the academic community, government agencies and business to conduct research and promote dialogue on the economic development of Azerbaijan.

Its activities will be aimed at exploring the possibilities of economic diversification, increasing productivity and competitiveness, as well as conducting international comparative research. The results obtained are to be used to develop practical recommendations in the field of economic policy.

Bashirli noted that the AI Center will contribute to development of human capital, strengthen competitiveness of the Azerbaijani economy and expand country's innovation potential.

"Our goal is to link international knowledge and experience with country's economic priorities, and transform investments in human capital into productivity growth and real economic results," the deputy minister said.
