October 12, Fineko/abc.az. The Russian government has partially lifted its ban on diesel exports, following an agreement reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
Under the decision that took effect today, an initial volume of 500,000 tons of diesel fuel will be allowed for delivery to global markets, enabling Russian oil companies to sign export contracts with foreign buyers.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak assured that domestic production volumes are sufficient to fully cover both domestic demand and the specified export quota. Russia had initially restricted diesel exports for non-producers on January 31 before extending the ban to producers on July 9.
