October 7, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese company Sichuan Sunsync Photovoltaic Technology, which has assets worth $1.7 billion, has begun construction of three modern enterprises for the production of solar panels on an area of 23 hectares in the Alat Free Economic Zone.

AFEZ chairma of board Valeh Aleskerov made the relevant statement at the German-Azerbaijani Conference on Strategic Partnership & Relations in Baku.

The enterprises being built on the basis of the investment agreement signed in September 2025 are to be put into operation in stages next year.

Along with solar panels, silicon crystals and components will also be manufactured at these plants with annual production capacity of 3 gigawatts.

Although some of the products produced will be used in the solar power plant to be built in the AFEZ, most of them will be exported to world markets, which will further strengthen Azerbaijan's strategic position in the field of renewable energy.
