Gold Eases to $4,150 Ahead of Fed Minutes Publication

October 7, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices edged lower on Wednesday as market participants awaited the release of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s latest meeting minutes for fresh signals on interest rate policy. Spot gold declined 0.3% to $4,150.23 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures fell 0.2% to $4,177.60.

While high interest rate expectations continue to weigh on non-yielding bullion, long-term sentiment remains bullish. Delegates at the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) annual conference projected gold prices could reach $5,013 per ounce over the next 12 months.

Meanwhile, spot silver dipped to $61.12, and platinum rose slightly to $1,704.25.
