Annual subsidy of up to 1,000 manats to be provided for Karabakh and Dilbaz horses

11:21 - 7.09.2026

September 7, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is introducing an annual subsidy for registered Karabakh and Dilbaz horses.

The Ministry of Agriculture informs that this decision of the Agricultural Subsidy Council is designed to protect, preserve and increase the population of Azerbaijan’s national horse breeds.

The subsidy for foals under the age of 2 years will reach 600 manats per head a year, 800 manats for broodmares over 2 years old, and 1,000 manats for breeding stallions.

The main conditions for receiving subsidies are the registration of animals in the Electronic Agricultural Information System (EKTIS), their electronic chipping and confirmation of origin using a DNA test.

In addition, other support measures are provided for livestock farms. In intensive farms established after October 1, 2026, the subsidy for dairy and dairy-meat animals will be 1,500 manats per head, and for meat breeds — 1,000 manats per head.

In existing farms, the annual subsidy per head of pedigreed dairy cattle will amount to 500 manats, local dairy cattle — 800 manats, and mixed dairy cattle - 200 manats.

To receive an animal subsidy, a farm must have at least 50 heads of thoroughbred or at least 100 heads of mixed dairy cattle.
