August 31, Fineko/abc.az. Natural gas consumption by the population of Baku declined by 3.7% in 2025.

According to ABC.AZ, the capital’s population consumed 1.4353 billion cubic meters of natural gas last year, compared with 1.4908 billion cubic meters in 2024.

Thus, natural gas consumption by Baku’s population decreased by 55.5 million cubic meters, or approximately 3.7%, year-on-year.

Across Azerbaijan as a whole, the population consumed 4.006 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2025, compared with 4.0403 billion cubic meters a year earlier.

The decrease amounted to 34.3 million cubic meters, or 0.8%.

In 2025, the population of the Absheron-Khizi economic region consumed 453.4 million cubic meters of natural gas, while consumption amounted to 251.4 million cubic meters in the Ganja-Dashkasan economic region and 244 million cubic meters in the Lankaran-Astara economic region.
