July 23, Fineko/abc.az. The European Commission has imposed a €890 million fine on Google for violating the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

In particular, a €460 million fine was imposed for promoting its own services in the Google Search results, and another €430 million for restricting the ability of developers in Google Play to redirect users to alternative and cheaper payment channels.

The EC has demanded that Google fix the violations within 60 days, or face recurring fines of up to 5% of its global average annual turnover.
