July 8, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, the global LNG carrier fleet increased by 8.4% to 804 vessels, while the number of voyages decreased by 2.8% due to the utilization of larger tankers.
According to reports, the growth of the fleet outpaced the increase in LNG supplies, leading to a decline in freight rates. The current order book stands at 301 vessels (37.4% of the existing fleet), with the bulk of deliveries scheduled for 2026–2027. Demand for new gas carriers continues to be supported by expectations of growth in global LNG production.
