June 22, Fineko/abc.az. On June 22, an online ceremony was held to mark the gifting of the "Dostlug" oil tanker, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

According to ABC.AZ, the "Dostlug" ("Friendship") oil tanker, presented by Azerbaijan as a gift to Turkmenistan, was constructed at the Baku Shipbuilding Yard. The vessel features an overall length of 141 meters, a width of 16.9 meters, and a draft of 4.54 meters. The construction of the 7,875 DWT (deadweight tonnage) tanker in Azerbaijan underscores the robust growth of the nation's domestic shipbuilding industry while simultaneously contributing to the advancement of friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. This milestone further demonstrates the Baku Shipbuilding Yard's capability to successfully execute large-scale and technologically complex shipbuilding infrastructure projects.

To date, the shipyard has successfully completed the construction of 14 vessels and carried out repairs on over 170 ships. Currently, the yard's active order book comprises 17 vessels, with 11 actively under construction and 6 in the engineering and design phase.
