June 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is channeling massive capital injections into infrastructure, focusing not only on domestic connectivity but also driving large-scale infrastructure projects of global scale beyond its borders.

According to ABC.AZ, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during his address at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. The Head of State emphasized that Baku is actively working to structurally reposition Azerbaijan from a landlocked geography into a premier global logistics and international shipping corridor.

Economic Diversification & Debt Strategy: The President noted that the diversification of the national economy has already transformed into a tangible reality, and the government will unequivocally sustain its structural efforts. Stating that Azerbaijan does not foresee any headwinds regarding its future economic growth trajectory, President Aliyev highlighted significant milestones achieved in streamlining the country's external public debt over recent years, adding that the nation's forward-looking strategic plans are now much broader.

Large-Scale Welfare Packages: Commenting on the domestic socio-economic front, the Head of State underlined the expansive nature of national welfare programs. He noted that over the past few consecutive years, the government has successfully rolled out a series of comprehensive social support packages designed to consistently buffer and improve the living standards of the population.
