June 17, Fineko/abc.az. On June 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Abraham Hamadeh, a member of the United States House of Representatives.
According to ABC.AZ, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the successful development of Azerbaijan-US relations following Donald Trump’s ascension to power for a second term.
Stating that his personal relations with the US President are at a high level, the head of state recalled with pleasure his visits to the United States and meetings with Donald Trump, as well as the visit of Vice President JD Vance to our country. He noted that the signing of the "Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America" held a historical role in terms of expanding mutual relations.
During the conversation, the sides touched upon the significance of Abraham Hamadeh’s co-sponsorship of the bill introduced in the US Congress regarding the repeal of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that Abraham Hamadeh's visit to our country would be successful.
Expressing his pleasure to be in Azerbaijan, the guest noted that our country is situated in a geographically unique location. He also highlighted that Azerbaijan hosts prestigious sporting events such as the UFC and Formula 1.
The discussions touched upon the efforts of the presidents of Azerbaijan and the US toward deepening the strategic partnership, noting that both leaders attach great importance to the development of interstate relations.
Donald Trump's role in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia was specifically emphasized, and the opportunities created by the TRIPP corridor were addressed in terms of developing regional transport connectivity.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on strengthening the dialogue between our country and the US Congress, noting that there are good opportunities for expanding cooperation in economic, trade, investment, energy, security, connectivity, technology, and other fields, while further discussing the future prospects of the Azerbaijan-US partnership.
