New 5 bn manat agriculture plan is prepared

June 12, Fineko/abc.az. The special emphasis the president placed on the role of the private sector in the State Program once again shows that sustainable development of agriculture is possible not only thanks to government support, but also with active participation of farmers, agricultural parks, processing enterprises, logistics companies, as well as representatives of the private sector offering technological and irrigation solutions.

ABC.AZ reports that Khalid Akhadov, President’s Assistant for Socio-Economic Affairs, said this during a speech at the regional meeting on the Mountain-Shirvan economic region in Ismayilli within the State Program on production and processing of agricultural, fish and aquaculture products for 2026-2030.

According to Akhadov, in the coming period, the private sector should act not just as a producer, but as a key participant and leading force in the entire agricultural value chain.

"The farmer produces products, the processing enterprise creates added value, the logistics and warehouse infrastructure reduces product losses, and the exporter brings it to foreign markets. It should be borne in mind that when any link in this chain is broken, the result achieved in production cannot be fully transformed into economic value.

To take the measures of the State Program, it is planned to attract more than 2 bn manats through the state line and over 3 bn manats of investments from the private sector," the presidential aide said.
