June 2, Fineko/abc.az. A prolonged blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could lead to a sharp reduction in global oil reserves and an increased imbalance between supply and demand, HSBC analysts say.
ABC.AZ informs that according to their estimates, countries will be forced to use their strategic reserves more actively, which could lead to a dangerous decline in them, a spike in prices and shortage of energy resources. Additional pressure will create an increase in demand during the summer season.
Aberdeen admits that with a protracted conflict over Iran, the price of oil could rise to $180 per barrel by the end of the year.
