June 1, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan will strengthen its position as a reliable energy supplier through joint projects with Ukraine.
ABC.AZ reports that Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal said this during the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
He added that Ukraine has already become part of the updated European gas map, including the Trans-Balkan route, through which Caspian gas can reach energy-deficient regions of Europe.
«The first trial deliveries of Azerbaijani gas through this corridor have demonstrated that this concept is becoming a reality. In addition, Ukraine possesses the largest underground gas storage facilities in Europe, with a total capacity of approx. 30 bcm. These facilities can serve as emphasized.
The Ukrainian minister underlined that such cooperation would benefit all parties involved.
"Azerbaijan will strengthen its reputation as a reliable supplier. Ukraine will enhance its role as a key transit and service hub. Europe, in turn, will gain stable alternative energy sources," he added.
