May 14, Fineko/abc.az. Applications for investments in the Karabakh region cover 39 countries.
ABC.AZ informs that this is reported by the Public Relations Department of the Service for Rehabilitation, Construction and Management in the city of Khankendi, Aghdere and Khojaly districts.
The head of the Main Tax Department of the Karabakh region of the State Tax Service, Alekber Mammadov, said that investors from Turkey, Iran, Hungary, Kazakhstan and Russia predominate among the appeals: "This demonstrates the growing international interest in the region and the attractiveness of the business environment created in Karabakh for investors," he said.
Mammadov says that a range of large projects are underway with participation of foreign investors.
As part of those initiatives, projects such as the planting of pomegranate orchards by Turkish companies Dəmirörən and Dost Aqropark, as well as projects by Uzbek company Agro Sonuat Innovator, are being implemented.
In addition, projects are realized by Lithuanian furniture cluster Dominari in AVIZ, the cement warehouse of Swiss company Holcim, the service center of Russian company KAMAZ, the Azerbaijan Rice Processing Mill from Pakistan, as well as the poultry farm of Belarusian holding Agrokombinat Dzerzhinski.
According to the tax representative, those projects are aimed at expanding region's production and service infrastructure.
