7 bcm of gas extracted from Shah Deniz for Jan-Mar 2026

May 1, Fineko/abc.az. BP-Azerbaijan produced 7 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz field for Jan-Mar 2026, which conforms to the 2025 same term, ABC.AZ report, referring to company’s statement.

Approx. 1 million tons of condensate were also produced from the field (the same as for Jan-Mar 2025).

The field's current production capacity is nearly 74.2 million cu m per day, or approx. 27.1 bcm a year, the statement says.

Shah Deniz consortium's field development expenses in the 1st quarter of 2026 increased by 19.4% versus Jan-Mar 2025, reaching $1.121 billion.

Operating expenses totaled close to $726 million (a rise of 8.1%) and capital expenses - $336 million (a rise of 57.7%).

The majority of those expenses were spent on Stage 2 of the field development.

The company also informs that in total, 23 wells have been drilled and completed for Shah Deniz 2 to date. These include five wells on the North flank, five wells on the West flank, four wells on the East South flank, five wells on the West South flank and four wells on the East North flank.
